The surface black lacquered with original paintings in poly-chromed pigments of scholar objects including floral arrangements, musical instruments, books, scrolls, chess sets, incense burners, tea pots, Fu dogs, bats (symbols of happiness), coins and Fu ideograph (longevity surrounds). Cabinet with original lacquer painted finishes are rare.19th century, Shenxi Province China. One if two cabinets.
