A pair of Japanese ranma (transom) made of Hinoki (Cypress) wood hand carved in three-dimensional relief of a family of quail and magnolia blossoms. Ranma were mounted above the Fusuma sliding doors between rooms to allow the air to circulate freely. Taisho Period (1912-1926)
