Hudok/Hudoq mask of carved wood with original pigments, bronze eyes and feathered headdress. A mythological composite of both human and zoomorphic elements. Used primarily at harvest ceremonies to welcome benign agricultural spirits and scare away malicious ones. The wearer was completely shrouded cloud like with dyed and painted palm fibers to accent the masks spirit nature. The masks have many variations and no two look exactly alike. Mounted on a contemporary stand.
